UK Purchasing

UK Purchasing is an independent distributor of electronic components with global sourcing and supply capabilities. They have over 15 years of experience within the industry and pride themselves on delivering a quality service to the many and varied needs of their customers.

They are made up of the following divisions:

  • UK Purchasing Consultants (Division) - Procurement Consultancy implementing cost reduction programmes for customer in both IT hardware purchases and Electronic Components.
  • UK Purchasing Electronics (Division) - Specialises in the supply and disposal of Electronic components
  • UK Purchasing Computer Services (Division) - Specialises in the supply of IT hardware and computer peripherals.

UK Purchasing became tenants at Edwinstowe House in January 2007, it was felt by Andrew Caudwell that the support they received as a new business was of great help and the flexibility regarding rent and deposits helped the company to establish a base from where they were able to start building their business.

The team at Edwinstowe house made UK Purchasing aware of the support available to them both in terms of grants and additional services such as switchboard, ICT support, postal services, marketing and business advice services.

In the 15 months that UK Purchasing have been based at Edwinstowe House they have acquired more office space as they have grown and are about to move into their 4th office and will be in their 5th by July 08.

As an independent distributor of electronic components & IT hardware with global sourcing and supply capabilities, UK Purchasing are able to service the needs of the electronics industry from MRP requirements and cost reduction programmes to shortage and excess management.

They have forged strong relationships with many blue chip OEMs and CEMs and are able to benefit these and many other types of business within the industry. They provide a dedicated contact to each customer and aim to provide fast, effective solutions.

The company have also accessed the Capital Grant fund and through this received funding for their new e-commerce website and have also attended a number of Sage courses. In their first year the company expect to have a much higher turnover than expected which they feel is an excellent achievement.

Andrew Caudwell of UK Purchasing feels that the impact of their website has been quite large and is pleased with all of the positive feedback that they have received.

Andrew said, "Having an ecommerce site within the electronics industry is crucial, we operate on a global scale and implementing the site is just the same as having a sales person working 24 hours a day. The ROI cleared within the first 2 weeks of launching the site and this is mainly down to the financial support we received through the Capital Grant Fund".
