PROJECT OVERVIEW

The objective of Career Chain is to support the retention and development of engineering and construction skills and people across the East Midlands. The project comprises of a range of services including career guidance, job search support and interview techniques, together with identifying specific training and development opportunities.

The NE Group is working in partnership with Winchester Consulting Limited accompanied by colleagues from Jobcentre Plus and various business support organisations.

Career Management & Redeployment Services within both the Engineering and Construction Sectors

• Career Advice and Guidence
• Job Search and Job Matching
• Advice on developing a professional CV
• Support with Interview Skills and Techniques

CWeb  Database

• Support with registering on the confidential CWeb Vacancy Database. The system has been designed to promote an individual’s skills and experience to prospective employers and to provide a pool of live vacancies from companies in the engineering sector. Register your details at: www.careerchain.org.uk and click on Online Services specifying Engineering or Construction.
• This is currently being extended to encompass the construction sector and this new service will be available from January 2009.

Training & Upskilling

• Provide individual ‘Training Needs Analysis’ where appropriate
